getting started

Are you completely new to Pilates? Welcome, you have just taken your first step on an amazing journey. To get the most out of your Pilates experience, we recommend signing up for at least three (3) private sessions. No matter how fit or athletic you are, Pilates is a new language to you and your body. After this introduction, you and your instructor can develop a strategy so you will achieve your Pilates goals.

private session

If you want to fully explore the Pilates Method, this is where you will want to start. Instruction covers both the mat and specialized Pilates apparatus. They are ideal for individuals with special considerations, or as a supplement to the semi-private program. A private workout is comprehensive, and tailored to your individual needs.  Each session is one hour.

semi-private sessions

Once you have progressed to a proficient level (a minimum of 3 private sessions) you'll be ready to team up with a friend or spouse for personalized semi-private workouts.  It is motivating and fun to share sessions with a partner.

open studio/group

Are you a beginner who would like to spend more time on the Reformer? Have you always participated in group classes but would like to exercise at your own pace? Have you been doing Pilates for years and want to add another workout to your schedule? Come to Planet Pilates during one of our “Open Studios” and do your own workout on the Reformer, Mat or Cadillac. A certified instructor will be with you the full hour to make sure the apparatus is set up properly, be sure that your execution of the exercise is correct and to answer any questions. We will also provide you with an exercise list for your level that includes the workout order, springs and other settings for each exercise. Check the current schedule for available times.

Prerequisite: Although an instructor is present to answer any questions, you will be doing your own individual workout. A basic level of knowledge about the apparatus and exercises is required.

mat classes

Mat work is an integral part of the Pilates method. These are group classes relatively small in size that offer a complete work out and are based on all the same fundamental principles as the studio sessions. In addition the program and exercises learned in these classes can then be used as a home program.
